measurement A
NECK
Measure around the neck where the coat will comfortably meet.
OR, Where the collar will rest, which will most likely be the smallest part of the neck
measurement B
GIRTH
Measure around the body two to three inches behind the front leg ("armpit").
This is where the coat will fasten under your pet's "belly"
measurement C
SHOULDER
Measure from the spine or center of the back toward the floor. Choose the length you need for your specific pet. If your pet has arthritis or sensitive skin, you might want a longer coat to cover more of his joints. If this is a decorative fun coat, you might not need the coat to be as long.
measurement D
LENGTH
Measure from the base of the neck toward the tail to the length you desire. If your pet has arthritis or sensitive skin, you may want to even cover allot of the tail in order to cover the rear "hips". If this is a decorative fun coat, you may not need the coat to be as long.
Measurements can be applied to almost any animal
with the possible exception of fish.
